The procrastination troll has struck again. I was picking away at my CLTP course yesterday and flipped to the front of my binder only to discover that I’m about three weeks behind. In my defence, this is the world’s most boring course. Ever! So now it’s not no pressure; it’s a pressure cooker. Catching up is going to mean discipline and focus for the next few days. Eek! What have I done? I’m going to try to get all the little assignments done for Unit 2 by tomorrow. Then I’ll do the big assignment next week. Then I can move onto Unit 3 and, hopefully catch up by the beginning of March. Then I have to do a 3-hour test. Yuck. At this point, not even the raise I’ll get for completing the course is helping much.
Ah, well. At least there are some good things happening, too. My patterns on Knit Picks are selling. Business is not as brisk as I would like, but neither is it non-existent. The yarn for my Om sweater and my Dad’s socks is on its way. In the mean time I’m whipping up a pair of socks in a slip stitch pattern for submission to Knit Picks and I’m waiting to hear about the Tribal Mask pattern that I submitted. I so love that pattern! I’m thinking about submitting the Om sweater to Knitty magazine for the “deep fall” issue. If it is accepted there, then I have to wait until the end of December to submit it to Knit Picks, but that’s okay. It’s exciting just to think about the possibility of being published in a magazine.
I’m now thinking about an Etsy store. Not sure, though. That means keeping it updated and having to maintain a Paypal account. I’m not crazy about Paypal. I’ll keep thinking about it.
Bizz’s tunic is almost done. Again! I finished the sleeves the other night and I took them off the block this morning. So this weekend, I’ll be pinning them in place and doing another fitting. Hopefully, this time my math is sound! LOL
Zippy and I have been enjoying our walks together. We walk to work on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I work late on Tuesdays and Thursdays and it’s still very dark when I come home. I don’t mind walking in the dark except that it is so icy and there are a bunch of deer hanging around our road. The buck can be a little over protective and after being chased by one a few years ago, I don’t really want to surprise the old boy – or be surprised by him! (Particularly on the ice.) Once daylight savings time starts, things will be different. I will be able to walk every day. Well, most days... I’ll take the van when I have lots of errands to do or have to pick up large items for the library. I could delegate these tasks, but it just doesn’t seem right to make staff members do my dirty work just because I choose to walk. Maybe I’m not looking at this the right way... Hmmm...
I’m also excited about my Kobo! It should be here in a week or so. (I hope, I hope, I hope!) I can’t wait to get it. I’ve ordered two for the library to promote Library to Go and one for myself. I’ll be giving them to the staff to try out and use first so they will be able to help patrons. Then we’ll start a big campaign and try to get more patrons using the free (to them; we pay dearly for it) service and increase our stats. Once I have this little gem, I won’t need a night light to read in bed anymore!
Well, I have a few things that need accomplishing before I head out to work. The weather man is calling for -24 over night tonight, so Zippy might be getting a long weekend. I think that I will not walk if it is truly that cold in the a.m. I’ll just have to hop on the Gazelle instead.
